The Macquarie Towns Arts Society invites everyone to join their full-day mixed media portrait drawing workshop with David Newman White on the subject, “Portrait of a Loved One, Grandchild, Friend or Hero!”

Suitable for members & guests of all levels. This workshop will guide you through a range of mixed media drawing techniques to create a unique and expressive portrait. By the end of the day, you will have your own completed portrait and the skills to continue exploring mixed media portraiture with confidence.

Come along, learn from one of the best, and enjoy a relaxed and inspiring day of creativity!

About David Newman-White:

David Newman-White is a highly acclaimed Australian visual artist and educator with over 34 years of teaching experience. He has taught at a range of institutions including East Sydney, Liverpool, Penrith and Seaforth TAFE, The Gallery School at Meadowbank, Nepean Art and Design Centre, Western Sydney Institute, and the Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum (National Trust).

His work has been exhibited both across Australia and internationally, including in New York, Oregon, and Switzerland.

Drawing inspiration from Renaissance and Baroque traditions, David continues to create impactful large-scale works, most recently for the Lithgow Baptist Church.

Born in Nowra in 1952, David holds multiple qualifications in visual arts and education, including a Master of Arts (Hons) from the University of Western Sydney. He now lives and paints in the Blue Mountains with his wife.
